Hungry Globetrotter is an online gourmet club that is developing international meals, which busy professionals and families can make at home. We choose an ever-changing mix of products and flavors, selected from best emerging and renowned brands in international cuisine. We help members of our World Dinner Club cook meals at home that are more exciting, less time consuming and not as intimidating.

The Hungry Globetrotter Manifesto

All revolutionary ideas come from a sense of outrage. So, here’s ours: Millions of people watch travel and cooking shows, browse apps, and read magazines only to salivate as others like TV hosts eat great food in fascinating locations. We look at these images and long for that experience. We are simply captivated. We are mesmerized by so-called “food porn” instead of living life. This is an outrage… this is unacceptable.

Hungry Globetrotter was founded, because life is too short for food to be boring and the world is too big for you to not experience it. So join us. Experience the world through what you eat. Come on a curated adventure with Hungry Globetrotter.

Our Story

After sampling Amazonian tree maggots, discovering the perfect kebab in Istanbul and tracking down the most authentic Swahili restaurant in Zanzibar (see right), there’s still a lot that excites me about food. 

Hi, I'm Vijay Rajendran, founder of Hungry Globetrotter Inc. Here, I'm able to draw on a varied background from living in six countries and a myriad of interests – International Cuisine, Travel, and Writing – just to name a few. 

Perhaps my greatest passion is one that I realized a couple years ago as a blogger: writing about travel and food. Since then, I've always shared new discoveries with friends. So, we launched Hungry Globetrotter as a way for people to connect with international flavors and different cultures. In 2012, we participated in the Local Food Lab accelerator program for food and farm start-ups.

When not growing Hungry Globetrotter, I enjoy the food, wine and outdoors of Northern California as well as overseas travel. (Check out some pictures from Mendoza, Argentina here).
